You ever wonder how flea markets in the city magically appear on Saturday only to magically disappear Sunday night? Well, apparently knowing how to pack a pick-up truck has a lot to do with it. I love this reference photo and can't wait for the chance to use a similar set-up in a film.
And while we're on the subject of vehicles and their many uses...check out the SUV below:
No, someone has not made this their residence...but they do spend an awful lot of time there. My friend Gigi took this photo last summer, in the midst of a nasty heat wave. The SUV belonged to their parking coordinator. For those of you not familiar with the position of a parking coordinator - he/she makes sure that a production's trucks and various vehicles have sufficient parking on the day of a shoot...which requires for them and their team to keep watchful guard over said parking spots overnight. A necessity given New Yorkers' penchant for ignoring signs, especially ones that say "No Parking." Apparently this parking coordinator has made staying cool overnight a priority - gold star for being able to sweet-talk nearby residents into letting him plug in his AC.
